Seeking New Circles Editor
An editor is needed for Circles when it converts to a monthly publication in August.
The position involves producing the newsletter on the computer in either a word processing or page layout program. It involves some writing, but primarily assembling and editing the material that other people write and submit via e-mail. If you are interested, call Christy Multer at 399-2050.

Board Thanks EBWA for Gift
The Board of Trustees would like to thank members of the Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance for their recent monetary gift to the Society.

EBWA, although not a fund-raising group, recently found themselves with some discretionary funds in their account. The Steering Committee generously voted to donate some of this money to FUSS. At a time when church funds are tight and we are facing some difficult budget decisions, this gift is greatly appreciated. EBWA has always been a vital part of our church community, and the Board greatly appreciates its support. (Betsy Bitner)

Attention FUSS Knitters and Crocheters
Katy Leonard held a lovely organizing gathering this week to form a charity group of knitters & crocheters for "Afghans for Afghans" a humanitarian project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the people of Afghanistan. Visit their website (http://www.afghansforafghans.org/) for detailed information about their current needs. Please join us if you’d like to help create woolen items by contacting Katy if you are interested in helping. Katyleonard@nycap.rr.com or 374-1913.

The group plans to do individual items such as mittens, socks & hats as well as collaborative afghans. We are also asking for donations of wool (ONLY wool) and knitting/crochet needles. If you have leftover wool that you’d like to donate, please bring it to the APC table after Sunday service or contact Katy to arrange for one of us to pick it up. If you don’t need/want your wool, it will help this new effort!

Goose Hill Neighborhood Watch Meeting May 14
The next meeting is 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14 at the Schenectady Police Headquarters on Liberty St., next to the public library.

A representative from the Police Department will be available to discuss our neighborhood concerns, as well as ideas on how to generate more citizen involvement. For more information, contact David Willkinson at 393-5394 or Camile at 346-4850.

Men’s Lunch May 15 in Scotia
In May, the luncheon meeting will be returning to the third Thursday, May 15, at the Turf Tavern in Scotia.  I'll be sending out an e-mail reminder a week in advance.  (John Wilkinson)

Also, a FUSS member has donated a couple of copies of the book for the Spring Read. If you’ve borrowed a copy and are finished, please return the book to the APC table so that it may be shared.

Join UUA Green Program
The Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth is the sponsor of the Green Sanctuary program. It is vital for the growth of UUMFE that we continue to build individual and household memberships.

To encourage this, UUMFE is offering a free half- or full-day workshop on “The Work that Reconnects” to the congregation that signs up the largest percentage of new memberships. There is a range of membership levels.

Please stop by our Green Sanctuary table and pick up a membership form for UUMFE. Your support is needed for our UU environmental program.
