FUSS members will begin receiving improved communications by mid-May, when a new weekly e-mail update debuts. Named Circuits, the weekly update means more timely notice of upcoming congregational events. In August, Circles will become a monthly newsletter, substantially reducing printing and mailing expenses, as well as labor.
The changes were developed by the Communications Committee convened by President Kathy McGowan. The Circuits editor will be Susan Stedge, the FUSS office administrator.
Circuits is NOT another Circles! Circles will continue to offer regular articles, announcements, and items related to FUSS activities. The Circuits weekly e-mail will contain a summary of the following Sunday's service and events and brief announcements that arise between issues of Circles. The focus of each Circuits will be primarily the two weeks following its distribution.
Think SHORT! Circuits items will typically be one or two sentences in length. In some cases, Circuits items might provide links to Circles or other Web pages where more information can be found. Because Circuits is an e-mail, the goal is to be brief while highlighting events and announcements.
All current subscribers to the e-mail notices of Circles newsletter will automatically receive the first edition of the Circuits. In the near future, a subscription link will be available on the FUSS Web site. Subscribers may specify a preference for HTML (including graphics) or text-only versions of Circuits.
Members of the Communications Committee are: Richard Chady, Kay MacLaury, Kathy McGowan, Christy Multer, Don Porter, Priscilla Richter and Barbara Vivier. (Barbara Vivier)
