Celebration Sunday
The Rev. Thandeka

We welcome back into our pulpit Rev. Thandeka, who will lead us in Celebration Sunday. Children and youth are welcome to attend this service where We Love Beyond Belief. Rev. Thandeka has been working with us this past year to open our congregation to new ways of being Unitarian Universalists in this world. She has worked with church leadership and members in faith development and has worked with our worship team to bring new ways to worship in community.

Music: Society and Junior Choirs

Coffee, Crullers and Conversation, 9:30 a.m. in the Emerson Room, will feature a thrilling budget discussion.

Wellspring Spiritual Deepening

Rev. Priscilla Richter and participants in our Wellspring I and II groups

For three years now, FUSS members have taken part in the Wellspring spiritual deepening program, which has been developed by the First Unitarian Church of Rochester, NY. Many have experienced transformation in this program – come and see why it’s an important part of our FUSS spiritual experience.

Music: Taylor Abbitt, bass; Gary Griffiths, piano

Annual Senior Youth Worship and Bridging Ceremony

Our senior youth group annually leads worship that highlights our high school seniors and their Bridging Ceremony to young adulthood. This is always a 'do-not-miss’ service, as their music, stories, insights, and giftedness shine a light on their being and becoming.

Following the service we will have our Society's Annual Meeting, at which members will discuss and vote on next year's budget and the proposal to change the name of the Society from the First Unitarian Society of Schenectady to the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady.

Coffee, Crullers and Conversation:

On May 19th we will discuss the movie, The Sunset Limited which will be shown the previous night in the Emerson Room.

The coffee will be hot and strong and to insure freshness, the crullers will be flown in from Paris on the Goodrich Blimp.

From Presentshock to Abiding Presence

Lisa Tamoshok, Worship Associate

The future is a thing of the past. In Present Shock, Douglas Rushkoff, introduces the theory of "presentism," the new ethos of a society that's always on, in real time, updating live. How do we skillfully navigate a digital ocean that collapses past and future into a mash-up of the immediate moment?

Music: Calvin Temoshok, saxophone

Coffee, Crullers and Conversation meets every other Sunday to hear a speaker in the Emerson room at 9:30, preceding the worship service. All are invited.
