What's on Sunday

On Sundays, things are hopping at the First Unitarian Society of Schenectady! Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. and music always plays an important part. Our large and vibrant Religious Education program takes place at the same time, from September into June.

  • Descriptions of the month's upcoming Sunday services, the music, and the Coffee, Cocoa and Conversations topic.

  • Welcome to our Sunday Services! All services begin at 10:30 a.m. Childcare is available for young children in the nursery, and there are religious education classes for children from kindergarten age through high school. Services include music, readings, hymns, meditation/prayer, and a sermon. There is a chance to greet the people around you, and to express joys and sorrows. Services are followed by a coffee hour in which you can chat with others and explore the informatin tables set up in the Great Hall.

  • Our active religious education program takes place during the 10:30 Worship Service for adults, for children of preschool age through high school.

  • Cellist Jonathan Kaledin, accompanied by Gary Griffiths on piano

Ask members of the Society about their favorite things here, and a number of folks are bound to mention the music program. Music is a strength and passion here. It attracts newcomers and sustains long-time members.

  • The First Unitarian Society has a number of special services that members look forward to. This shows part of our annual Water Communion Service.
